Maintains room and work area organization and cleanliness, and ensures proper stocking levels per standard principles.

Following Guidelines

• Follows CDC isolation guidelines.
• Demonstrates appropriate use of PPE.
• Performs hand hygiene according to policy.
• Enforces safety regulations.

Hourly Rounding

• Performs hourly rounding on patients.
• Ensures patients have call bells, pillows, blankets as needed.
• Ensures caregiver names are on the boards.

Transporting Patients

• Transports unmonitored patients to inpatient departments.
• Transports monitored patients to PCU/med-tele.
• Accompanies registered nurse to transport patients to specialty units.

Assisting with Procedures

• Initiates oxygen therapy as directed by registered nurse or physician.
• Assist physician or registered nurse with procedures and exams.
• Setup and cleanup for sutures, pelvic exams, lumbar punctures, and application of orthopedic splints and casting.
• Applies slings, sling-n-swathe, finger splints, and dressings.

Following Safety Regulations

• Follows Center for Disease Control isolation guidelines.
• Demonstrates appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
• Performs hand washing according to policy.
• Enforces safety regulations.

Age-Specific Competencies

• Utilizes age-specific competencies in the care of all patient populations.

Customer Service

• Champions customer service by keeping patients informed.
• Provides updates to patients.
• Apologizes for waits.
• Demonstrates caring and compassion.
• Advocates for pain management.
• Ensures patients can get help at any time.

EKG Testing

• Attaches and completes 12 lead EKG tests before providing the strip to the physician on duty.

Career Development

• Performs venipuncture for testing.
• Inserts peripheral IVs.
• Hangs IV fluid without medication.
• Maintains prescribed IV flow rates.

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Pay Range

$16.14 - $25.83

Background Screening Requirement

Certain positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law.
