About the role
Laboratory Instructors in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program assigned for specific class times when students require direct supervision of skills practice and/or testing.
Responsibilities
- Delivers training or retraining as necessary on skills according to the standards of the current text, current level of the students, and the skill sheets used by the program.
- Ensures that psychomotor and affective competency are evaluated according to the established criteria and documentation completed as needed.
- Ensures that equipment and supplies are overseen appropriately, both for the safety of students and faculty, and for the protection of expensive resources.
- Ensures that proper PPE is used as needed for the skill being taught.
- Completes College timesheet as directed.
Requirements
- EMT, AEMT, Paramedic or RN with EMS field experience
- Demonstrated experience in the field
- Credentialed and Completion of at least 1 Recertification Cycle at their current level of certification
- Proven academic excellence and subject matter knowledge, which may be evidenced by training, experience, and/or associate degree.
Qualifications
- Paramedic license preferred

Pay
The minimum hourly rate for the position is $27.15 per hour, please see the pay schedule listed below.
EMS Laboratory Instructor hourly rate schedule effective July 1 2024:
- Certificate: $27.15
- Associate Degree: $28.24
- Bachelor’s Degree: $29.32
Schedule
Schedule varies. May be days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Special Assignments
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
- May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
