EMR APP ANALYST – WILLOW (HYBRID)

Covenant HealthCare is seeking an Epic Application Analyst who understands system build and functionality, analyzes business workflows, and recommends solutions aligned with organizational goals. This role collaborates with end users to evaluate, design, build, test, train, and implement within Epic and third-party solutions while demonstrating excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate functional knowledge of Epic, applicable third-party solutions, and Microsoft suite of products.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with customers; meet with customers to capture business and technical requirements.
  • Assess workflow methods, identify gaps, determine necessary workflow changes, and develop workflows alongside customers for new solutions or functionality.
  • Design, build, and configure assigned Epic system modules and supporting third-party solutions; develop and maintain process documentation.
  • Develop and maintain test scripts for workflow testing; perform testing per department requirements.
  • Ensure application changes and upgrades are working properly.
  • Follow departmental standards for change control and quality assurance; provide documentation on system changes and training, if applicable.
  • Troubleshoot issues, initiate escalation procedures with minimal supervision, and propose resolutions.
  • Participate in or lead cross-functional projects; understand project planning and coordination using project management tools.
  • Communicate project status, deliverables, barriers, end-user concerns, and upcoming milestones.
  • Actively participate in meetings as needed and provide status updates to leadership.
  • Rotate on-call with team members to provide 24x7 emergency support and remote support, if needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2 years of Healthcare, IT, or finance/account receivable experience required.
  • Specific experience in the operational area for Epic application preferred.
  • In lieu of Associate’s degree, a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience and willingness to obtain an Associate’s degree within three (3) years.
  • Must become and maintain Vendor certification in specified application within 6 months of attending the first Vendor course.

Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, business operations, and workflows, including interdepartmental relationships.
  • Previous experience in the area of application preferred.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, web browsing, issue tracking, and email applications.
  • Strong project management skills, including leading meetings, prioritizing, resolving conflicts, and maintaining issues lists.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude; ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; ability to probe for information to understand underlying needs.
  • Approachable and able to interact positively with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and consistently meet project deadlines.
  • Demonstrated effective follow-up and sound decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to change, and work with minimal direction.
  • May be asked to mentor or coach new IT employees.
