Employment Training Specilaist
Job Responsibilities
- Assess skills and develop individualized plans to assist individuals in obtaining/maintaining employment.
- Develop a career pathway.
- Address any barriers/ potential barriers to employment, assist with job searching skills, resume writing, interviewing/social skills, and workplace behavior.
- Provide on the job support, provide strategies, teach skills, and promote workplace integration.
- Train and support employers and assist with any workplace accommodations.
- Collaborate with the individual, employers, planning teams, families, and community organizations.
- Advocate for the rights and inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities in the workforce.
- Implement strategies to monitor progress.
- Document services delivered.
- Maintain contact with individual support teams.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in employment services.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have their own vehicle
Qualifications
The Employment Specialist must have a strong understanding of employment services and developmental disabilities. Experience in related fields such as human services, social work, or vocational rehabilitation is preferred but not required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with employment service software is beneficial.
