Job Overview
CWS is seeking an Employment Specialist to support individuals with disabilities in achieving meaningful, sustainable employment. This position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact while working with a supportive and mission-driven team.
Key Responsibilities
Build positive relationships with individuals with disabilities, their families, employers, community partners, and team members.
Conduct individualized assessments to identify each client’s skills, interests, and employment goals.
Aid clients with job searches, resume development, interview preparation, and professional networking.
Teach workplace readiness skills and professional behaviors that support long-term employment success.
Provide hands-on job coaching and on-the-job training as needed to support individuals in their roles.
Develop and maintain relationships with local employers to identify employment opportunities.
Match job seekers with positions that align with their strengths and interests.
Understand employer workforce needs and connect them with qualified candidates.
Facilitate job placements and ensure employment agreements and program requirements are met.
Maintain accurate records of client services, progress, and employment outcomes.
Prepare reports related to job placements and program performance.
Communicate effectively with clients, employers, colleagues, and stakeholders through clear written and verbal communication.

Required Education & Experience
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field.
A High School Diploma may be accepted with relevant experience.
Minimum of two years’ experience providing services to individuals with disabilities or in a rehabilitation-related field.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with individuals with disabilities and community employers.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Valid North Carolina Driver’s License with a clean driving record in accordance with agency standards.
Ability to use a personal vehicle for routine work-related travel (mileage reimbursement provided).
Ability to pass a background check including criminal history and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with EIPD (formerly Vocational Rehabilitation).
Experience maintaining records in electronic case management systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data tracking and reporting.
Comfortable working independently, including community outreach and employer engagement.
Ability to manage schedules and priorities with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 10–25 lbs.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Compensation
Pay Range: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
