About the role

The Unemployment Insurance Center – Carnegie Office is hiring an Employment Program Manager I (EPM I) to supervise a unit of staff performing Employment Program Representative (EPR) duties related to determining claimant eligibility for Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee staff conducting fact-finding interviews, responding to customer inquiries, and processing claims in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and precedent decisions.
  • Ensure the delivery of prompt, accurate, and courteous service to internal and external customers.
  • Conduct training and provide mentoring support.
  • Lead and engage staff in the implementation of EDD policies and procedures, new initiatives, and program changes.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to staff while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Monitor workload and performance expectations while promoting employee growth and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Experience leading and engaging staff in the implementation of EDD policies and procedures, new initiatives, and program changes.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At least two years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to employment services, human resources, or a related field.
  • Experience in managing a team of staff.
  • Experience in providing customer service and handling complex issues.
  • Experience in supervising staff conducting fact-finding interviews and processing claims.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of unemployment insurance laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

$6,525.00 - $8,170.00

Schedule

Hybrid schedule with the option to work remotely up to 50% of the time.
