About the role

The EDD Workforce Services Branch (WSB) is seeking qualified candidates for the Employment Program Manager I (EPM I) position at the Capitola AJCC within the Los Angeles Coastal Workforce Services Division. As an EPM I, you will join a diverse and dedicated team committed to helping Californians return to the workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, oversee, plan, influence a positive working environment, and organize Wagner-Peyser programs within the confines of an America's Job Center office with the Capitola/Salinas Cluster.
  • Participate in developing and implementing goals, objectives, policies, and standards applicable in the support of Title III of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Employment Program Manager I (EPM I) responsibilities, including managing and supervising staff, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing guidance and support to clients.
  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of services to job seekers and employers, including conducting outreach activities, administering job training programs, and facilitating job placement services.
  • Ensure the effective operation of the America's Job Center of California (AJCC) by maintaining accurate records, tracking program performance, and reporting data to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external partners to enhance service delivery and improve outcomes for job seekers and employers.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the AJCC's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Oversee the recruitment and training of new staff members, providing ongoing professional development opportunities to ensure staff competency and effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Oversee the implementation of quality assurance measures to ensure the provision of high-quality services to job seekers and employers.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the AJCC's technology infrastructure, ensuring that systems are up-to-date and functioning effectively.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the AJCC's marketing and communication strategies to promote the services offered and attract new clients.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the AJCC's referral and partnership networks to facilitate the successful placement of job seekers and the provision of services to employers.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the AJCC's data collection and analysis processes to inform decision-making and improve service delivery.
