Employment & Labor Associate

About the role

A respected East Coast law firm is seeking an Employment & Labor Associate to join its growing team. The role offers opportunities to work on a wide range of employer-side matters, including litigation, arbitration, and advisory work.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in employment litigation in state and federal courts
• Handle matters before administrative agencies, including the NLRB and EEOC
• Support labour arbitration proceedings
• Draft pleadings, motions and legal memoranda
• Conduct legal research and analysis on employment law issues
• Afford assistance with internal investigations and employment counselling
• Draft employment agreements, policies and related documentation

Who You Are

• 3–4 years of employment and labour litigation experience
• Experience with employer-side matters preferred
• Exposure to discrimination, wage and hour and breach of contract claims
• Experience with non-compete litigation is advantageous
• Strong research, writing and advocacy skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Team-oriented with the ability to work independently

Compensation

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience
