Employment/Job Coach - San Juan Capistrano

Position Summary

Want to make a difference in someone's life? Responsible and caring individual needed to mentor and provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities at their job sites, and job development for individuals seeking employment in the Orange County area. We have part-time positions open in the following areas of South Orange County: Aliso Viejo, Lake Forest, Trabuco Canyon, Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Hills, San Juan Capistrano.

Job Description

The Employment Coach is responsible for carrying out all directives that come from the Support Manager, their Director of Services, Chief Executive Officer, and Board of Directors. The highest priority is to ensure all IRI persons served service and support needs are met.

• Provides mentorship to the people we serve.
• Ensures they are providing the best services possible, including a priority focus on health, safety, and quality of life services.
• Supports job development and on-the-job supports, guided by PBIS and Instructional Support Strategies.
• Aids in securing a competitive integrated job that aligns with the individual's skills and talents.
• Gathers information to create meaningful and Individualized Support Plans (ISP).
• Maintains strong and effective business relationships with employers and volunteer sites.

Skills and Qualifications

• Two years of college or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
• Experience supporting people with disabilities, preferably in community integrated settings.
• Strong organization, communication, and writing skills.
• Proficient in computer and online platform usage.
• Positive behavior support training experience preferred.
• Commitment to full inclusion, integrated employment, self-advocacy, and person-centered planning.
• Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.

Physical Demands

• Sit, stand, and walk for varying periods of time.
• Bend, stoop, climb stairs, reach above shoulder level, balance, push, pull, and move throughout office or community settings.
• Lift items weighing up to ten (10) pounds.
• Use both hands for at least a portion of the day, with or without reasonable accommodation, for tasks such as typing, writing, and using computers/mobile devices.
• Have sufficient visual and hearing capacity, with or without assistive devices, to perform essential job functions and communicate effectively.
• Drive an automobile to meet the functions of job responsibilities.
• Use company-issued devices or pre-authorized use of the employee’s personal device, must comply with the agency’s cell phone policy at all times.

Work Environment

• Office, community work settings, in-home supports, home as assigned for remote work, outdoors – varying weather conditions.
