About the role

The Employment Development Specialist I (EDS I) works closely with the management team on a daily basis, performing analytic, administrative, and technical functions critical to the daily operations in an Unemployment Insurance (UI) environment. This includes research, study, and analysis of data; production of results and reports; and proposing resolutions based on workload trends. Travel and/or overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist management in planning and distributing workload to staff using the UI Scheduling System and other distribution methods.
• Support management in quality control and budget planning.
• Analyze data and produce reports to identify workload trends and propose resolutions.

Requirements

• Must have current list or transfer eligibility to apply for full-time permanent term. Non-list candidates may apply for Training and Development term.
• Submit a State Application (STD 678) and a Statement of Qualifications (no longer than two pages) describing relevant skills, knowledge, experience, and training.
• If selected for hire, must obtain list eligibility by taking and passing the examination (unless already eligible).

Pay

• Range A: $4,570.00 - $5,725.00 per month
• Range B: $5,494.00 - $6,880.00 per month
• New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
• Effective July 1, 2025, specific bargaining units and excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025).

Schedule

• Permanent, full-time position.
• Work Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
• Hybrid telework schedule may be eligible, at the discretion of the department and subject to change based on business needs.
