Overview Stagwell is seeking a talented, highly motivated, and business-oriented employment attorney with experience advising on U.S. employment law, executive contracts, and litigation management across a global organization. In this position, you will partner with Stagwell’s Human Resources team, and our dynamic agencies around the world to deliver high-quality legal advice and strategic business guidance on a broad range of employment matters with a primary focus on U.S. federal, multi-state law and Canada (Ontario). Responsibilities Reporting to the Head of Global Employment Law, you’ll oversee employment law across the U.S. and other global markets as needed— advising on complex employment matters, partnering closely with HR leaders, and serving as a trusted problem-solver for business teams across the region.Provide day-to-day advice on a broad range of employment issues including investigations, HR best practices, performance management, RIF and individual terminations, recruiting, hiring, compensation and benefits, wage and hour, and other strategic advice.Deliver proactive, commercial, and risk-based employee relations guidance with a strong ability to advise and counsel effectively.Advise senior leadership and HR on complex and high-risk matters including investigations, litigation strategy, workforce restructuring, regulatory risk, and reputational concerns.Manage dispute matters across global and international markets, create a framework for evaluating legal claims proactively.Lead and collaborate with cross-functional partners on complex projects to sustain and enhance employment law compliance across multiple jurisdictions.Collaborate with the legal and People Operations teams to help manage equity awards and ensure compliance with applicable global, regional, and local requirements. Qualifications J.D. with New York Bar admission5+ years of combined experience in Big Law and an in-house legal department, with significant experience advising on U.S. federal and multi-state employment law matters, requiredExperience with Canadian or EMEA or APAC employment law a plusOutstanding writing, drafting and communication skillsAbility to use good judgment and demonstrate attention to detailAbility to deliver complex legal advice in a business-friendly mannerMust be able to balance large volume of work through effective time management and prioritizationA team player who acts with high integrity and professionalismInspire, trust, and earn the confidence and cooperation of your business partners Compensation In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in New York City for this role is $165,000 - $190,000 with bonus and other incentives. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
