About the Role
Richelieu Foods is a leading national private label and contract packing food manufacturer focused on frozen pizza, with manufacturing facilities in IL and WI. The Employee Safety and Security Specialist supports the coordination, planning, and execution of plant safety initiatives and provides guidance for the plant's safety management program to maintain a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
- Influence behavior and inspire commitment on the part of all employees to comply with Richelieu Foods safety and health standards and work environment
- Identify and inform plant leadership of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities
- Conduct frequent safety observation audits and assist in root cause analysis
- Participate in incident investigation processes including a review of all injury / illness / non-injury incident investigation reports
- Oversee incident reporting and management system to ensure incident investigations and corrective and preventive actions are completed in a timely manner
- Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions
- Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomic considerations, in all such efforts
- Facilitate and assess effectiveness of plant safety training programs including new hire safety orientation, standard work training for hourly positions, and specialized safety training as required
- Collaborate with safety leadership across the Company in the development and implementation of safety focused policies, programs, and objectives
- Complete programmatic implementation tasks on the production floor as required
- Review assigned EHS programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory agencies on a continuous basis and revise as appropriate
- Provide input in the development and administration of company safety incentive programs
- Complete regular safety and environmental site reviews and audits
- Monitor resources used to ensure compliance with waste management and recycling policies
- Support senior safety and environmental team members in various safety initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field desired
- 1 - 3 years of safety experience
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management principles
- Familiar with various risk assessment and root cause analysis methods
- Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge; advanced in Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing experience
- ASP/GSP/STS certification

Working Conditions
On-Site: This role requires 100% onsite attendance to perform the essential functions of the role
Pay
- Expected compensation range: $75,000 - $95,000
- Eligible for an annual incentive plan bonus
