Employee Relations Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations matters by assessing concerns, gathering relevant information, and recommending appropriate resolutions.
  • Conduct workplace investigations involving policy violations, interpersonal conflicts, and other sensitive employee issues while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Advise managers on performance-related situations, corrective action, and documentation to promote consistency and fairness.
  • Partner with HR and leadership to interpret labor and employee relations issues in alignment with organizational policy and applicable laws.
  • Review workplace concerns for potential risk and escalate complex matters when needed to support sound decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate case records, investigation notes, and related documentation in accordance with internal standards and legal requirements.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations practices that support compliance with local employment law and established HR procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience handling employee relations cases in a detail-oriented HR environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or support employee investigations involving sensitive or complex issues.
  • Working knowledge of labor and employee relations principles, including performance management practices.
  • Familiarity with local employment law and its practical application in workplace situations.
  • Experience with HR administration and maintaining accurate, confidential employee records.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Skills

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) or equivalent degree.
  • HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR, or similar.
