Employee Relations Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 15–20 employee relations cases per day, with a primary focus on performance concerns, sexual harassment investigations, and behavioral issues.
  • Conduct full life-cycle investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and conflicts, including intake, fact-finding, documentation, and resolution.
  • Provide strategic guidance and consultation to leaders on the interpretation and application of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
  • Engage Legal partners when appropriate to address complex issues and minimize organizational risk and liability.
  • Collaborate closely with HR and management to develop and implement strategies that improve morale, employee engagement, and overall productivity.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret employee relations data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement, and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Offer counseling and guidance to team members and leaders to support effective conflict resolution and performance management.
  • Participate in dismissal processes, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and adherence to legal requirements.
  • Conduct mediation sessions to help resolve conflicts between employees and/or leaders in a constructive and timely manner.
  • Conduct exit interviews, gather feedback, and provide insights and recommendations to management based on exit trends and themes.
  • Develop and deliver training programs related to employment law, HR policies, and employee relations best practices.

Essential Skills

  • 5–7 years of human resources experience.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of dedicated employee relations experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide the application of HR-related regulations and laws, including but not limited to FLSA, COBRA, ADA, and FMLA.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to handle complex and sensitive issues.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document investigations clearly and communicate findings effectively.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for process and policy improvements.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage a high volume of cases and competing priorities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with HR systems such as Oracle.
  • Experience using HR Acuity or similar employee relations case management tools.
  • Experience in human resources and employee relations, with exposure to performance management, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience designing or delivering training related to employment law and HR policies.

Work Environment

This role follows a hybrid work model that requires on-site presence three days per week, with Tuesday and Wednesday as mandatory on-site days. The position involves frequent interaction with employees, leaders, HR partners, and Legal, and requires regular use of HR technologies and case management tools. The work environment is fast-paced and case-driven, with a focus on confidentiality, professionalism, and careful documentation in handling sensitive employee relations matters.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
