Employee Relations Representative

Serve as the first point of contact

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations inquiries
  • Address routine questions related to policies, procedures, and workplace concerns
  • Escalate complex issues to HR leadership as needed

Act as the intake liaison

  • Act as the intake liaison for employee complaints
  • Conduct initial assessments and ensure proper documentation

Conduct preliminary interviews

  • Conduct preliminary interviews and gather relevant information for employee relations cases
  • This includes harassment allegations, workplace complaints, and policy violations

Partner with managers

  • Partner with managers and supervisors to provide guidance on company policies
  • Performance management, and disciplinary procedures

Maintain records

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records for all employee lifecycle events
  • This includes resignations, terminations, transfers, and promotions

Prepare and manage documentation

  • Prepare and manage employee relations documentation
  • This includes Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and corrective actions

Stay and exit interviews

  • Conduct stay interviews and exit interviews
  • Analyze feedback, identify trends, and present insights to HR leadership

Ensure compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations (EEO, affirmative action, etc.)
  • Apply this knowledge when advising employees and leaders

Promote a positive philosophy

  • Promote a positive employee relations philosophy aligned with Garver standards and organizational values

Additional duties

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
  • Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Solid understanding of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and legal guidelines effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (required)
  • Minimum of 3 years of HR experience, employee relations experience preferred
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
  • Occasional lifting up to 15 pounds
