Employee Relations Business Partner
Responsibilities
The Employee Relations Business Partner provides hands-on employee relations support across Eden Medical Center, Sutter Delta Medical Center, and Sutter Solano Medical Center. This highly visible role conducts workplace investigations from start to finish, including employee and witness interviews, document review, detailed case documentation, formal investigation reports, findings, recommendations, and corrective action guidance. The Business Partner serves as a neutral and objective advisor to leaders and employees on performance management, discipline, workplace concerns, and other complex employee relations matters. The role collaborates with HR, legal, labor relations, and risk partners to ensure consistent and compliant outcomes.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 5+ years of recent employee relations or human resources experience
- Recent hands-on experience personally conducting workplace investigations from intake through findings and recommendations
- Experience with employee and witness interviews, evidence gathering, documentation review, and formal investigation report writing
- Experience with performance management, discipline, corrective action recommendations, and employee relations casework
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and employee relations practices
- Ability to coach leaders through complex, sensitive, and high-risk employee situations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in clear, defensible case documentation
- Ability to travel between Eden, Delta, and Solano facilities based on active investigations and HR needs
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting union-represented employees and environments
- Experience within healthcare or a complex, multi-site organization
- Experience operating in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with multiple concurrent cases
- Experience partnering with HR business partners, legal, labor relations, and risk teams
