About the role

The Employee Development Specialist supports the execution and continuous improvement of the company's employee onboarding, development, and engagement programs. This role coordinates onboarding activities, supports employee development initiatives, facilitates training and mentorship opportunities, and helps employees navigate key career development experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the coordination and execution of onboarding and employee development programs across the organization.
  • Manages onboarding schedules, communications, checklists, training resources, development materials, and key milestones.
  • Pairs with hiring managers, HR, IT, Training, and business leaders to ensure onboarding and development activities are completed successfully and on schedule.
  • Maintains onboarding tools, resources, program documentation, and development materials to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  • Supports continuous enhancements to onboarding and development experiences that promote employee success and engagement.
  • Facilitates new hire orientation sessions, onboarding events, employee experience activities, and professional development programs.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for new employees throughout their onboarding journey.
  • Coordinates welcome communications, mentorship assignments, networking opportunities, and employee engagement touchpoints.
  • Builds strong relationships with managers, leaders, mentors, trainers, and cross-functional partners to support employee success and development.
  • Conducts onboarding and development check-ins and assists in addressing challenges or opportunities for improvement.
  • Supports participant progression through training, onboarding, development, and career advancement opportunities.
  • Maintains detailed program schedules, timelines, tracking tools, and implementation plans.
  • Collaborates on cross-functional activities to ensure readiness for onboarding sessions, training programs, development events, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Supports internal communications related to onboarding, development, and employee experience programs.
  • Ensures compliance with internal processes, documentation standards, and program requirements.
  • Tracks onboarding, training, mentorship, and employee development program participation and completion.
  • Maintains program records, reporting tools, dashboards, and employee development documentation.
  • Gathers feedback from employees, trainees, managers, and mentors to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Supports initiatives designed to improve employee engagement, development, readiness, retention, and overall employee experience.

  • Exposure to B2B, sales, or corporate environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams).
  • Experience supporting employee communications, internal events, or engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as: Marketing, Communications, Business, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field), or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3–5+ years of experience designing, coordinating, and delivering employee experience, learning and development, talent growth, onboarding, and engagement initiatives that support employee development and organizational effectiveness.
  • Experience coordinating programs involving multiple stakeholders, timelines, and participant groups.
  • Experience facilitating onboarding activities, employee events, training sessions, or development programs.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing feedback, tracking program effectiveness, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience supporting early career, trainee, internship, leadership development, or mentorship programs.
  • Exposure to B2B, sales, or corporate environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams).
  • Experience supporting employee communications, internal events, or engagement initiatives.

The wage range for this role considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business requirements, geographic location and other business and organizational needs.

Pay

Salary range for this role is $50,000 - $80,000 annually.

Schedule

This is an onsite position based out of Berlin, CT 5 days a week.
