Foundation Risk Partners, one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage and consulting firms in the US, is adding an Employee Benefits Account Specialist to their Corporate Synergies team in the New York Metro Region.

About the role

Essential to developing a strong foundation in employee benefits brokerage/consulting, the Account Specialist (AS) is an entry-level position responsible for developing the industry knowledge and skills necessary to support Sales, Account Management, and Underwriting with activities related to marketing, sales, and service of multiple client accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain up-to-date client files and internal systems in accordance with CSG’s standard protocols.
  • Support pre-renewal, renewal, post-renewal, and wellness activities.
  • Coordinate data gathering for reporting efforts (analytical, compliance, etc.).
  • Complete training and professional development to gain understanding of the industry and CSG.
  • Assist and support the Account Management and Underwriting Team for all lines of coverage by:
    • Gathering all necessary data to fulfill obligations (including outreach to carriers and clients to secure information).
    • Supporting the preparation, analysis, and delivery of materials (e.g., exhibits, reports, and presentations).
    • Completing assigned implementation tasks associated with client-related projects.
    • Coordinating activities and completing regulatory tasks (e.g., 5500’s, ACA, and other notices/disclosures).
  • Prepare standard and ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Track receipt of deliverables and update the Annual Action Plan to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations when appropriate.
  • Prepare and review employee education and communication materials (e.g., Benefit Guides) during Open Enrollment.
  • Assist in coordinating Open Enrollment activities, including conducting meetings.
  • Maintain internal systems (e.g., BenfitPoint and Oracle) and client files in accordance with CSG’s data standards.
  • Perform necessary steps, including timely follow-up, to resolve client service, claim issues, or administrative concerns.
  • Interact with carriers and vendors on behalf of the client and the team.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail, well-organized, and responsive.
  • Strong desire and willingness to learn all aspects of:
    • CSG suite of services and available solutions.
    • Insurance and healthcare-related products.
    • Regulatory and compliance-related matters (including healthcare reform).
  • Comfortable working with numbers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Publisher.
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to establish relationships.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate composure/resilience under pressure.
  • Comfortable switching between clients and tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of insurance and healthcare.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
  • Experience: Entry-level position requiring no previous job experience.
  • Licensure/Certification: State-Specific Resident Life & Health License required within six months from date of hire.

Pay

This range represents the estimated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to performance, location, and experience.

Pay Transparency Range: $65,000 USD - $75,000 USD
