Foundation Risk Partners, one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage and consulting firms in the US, is adding an Employee Benefits Account Specialist to their team in a hybrid role, working 3 days a week in the Columbia, MD office. This role is designed to build a strong foundation in employee benefits brokerage and consulting account management, with a focus on group benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Senior Account Manager and assigned clients to deliver seamless service and support.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and internal systems in accordance with established protocols.
  • Support pre-implementation, implementation, and post-implementation activities to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Assist with renewal marketing efforts and cost analyses for assigned clients.
  • Coordinate data collection for reporting needs, including analytical and compliance-related deliverables.
  • Support the Account Management Team throughout the full client lifecycle (onboarding, ongoing service, and renewal) across all lines of coverage by:
    • Collecting required data, including outreach to carriers and clients to obtain necessary information.
    • Assisting with the preparation, analysis, and delivery of reports, exhibits, and presentations.
    • Completing assigned implementation tasks for client-related projects.
  • Provide timely service support to assigned clients.
  • Coordinate activities and ensure successful execution of the annual Project Plan for each client.
  • Prepare standard and ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Track deliverables and update the Project Plan to maintain accuracy and timeliness.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations when appropriate.
  • Communicate with carriers and vendors on behalf of clients and the internal team.
  • Travel to client, carrier, and company events as needed.

Requirements

  • Active Life & Health license or ability to obtain this license within 6 months of employment.
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented, organized, and responsive, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and evolving client needs.
  • Highly motivated and eager to learn all aspects of insurance and healthcare-related products.
  • Comfortable working with numbers and data analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new skills and technologies.
  • Effective both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Skilled in relationship-building with clients, colleagues, and industry partners.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong multitasking abilities with the composure and resilience to manage multiple clients and tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of insurance and healthcare concepts with a focus on small and mid-market group benefits (2-99).
