Background

Emma practises in both criminal and civil matters. She accepts instructions on a range of practice areas. Emma has a substantial criminal law practice; with a solid grounding in trial and appellate work. She regularly conducts all manner of trials, bail applications, plea negotiations, mitigations, and bind-overs. Emma has a broad civil practice with particular emphasis on family law, personal injuries, and professional negligence. In the area of family law, she has experience in conducting matters in relation to divorce, ancillary relief, and child custody & care. Emma has successfully acted for non-refoulement claimants at both first instance and on appeal. She advises in ADR matters, and has acted as counsel and as mediator. Emma has appeared in all levels of courts in Hong Kong, including in the Court of Final Appeal, and has also represented clients in the Medical Council and the Veterinary Disciplinary Board.
