About the role
Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters. Manages the front end of the store and makes recommendations on overall operations. Supports the Store Manager with store operations to achieve company goals.
Responsibilities
- Manages store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline.
- Engages customers and resolves complaints.
- Monitors customer service, provides coaching, and develops plans for improvements.
- Safeguards store assets and ensures proper merchandising.
- Ensures proper cash management, inventory control, and adherence to security protocols.
- Manages store operations, including opening/closing, shift changes, and employee schedules.
- Supports external partnerships and collaborates with the Pharmacy Operations Manager.
- Improves store performance and customer service metrics.
- Trains and coaches team members.
- Ensures store cleanliness and responds to emergencies.
- Provides leadership and mentorship to team members.
- Manages team member performance and discipline.
- Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Analyzes financial and performance data to support business deliverables.
- Communicates with team members and supports the company's strategy.
- Trains and mentors team members.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Manages internal communications and fosters a culture of accountability.
- Manages candidate pool and participates in the interview process.
- Ensures proper procedures are followed for selection, recruitment, and training.
- Develops talent plan and manages short and long-term staffing needs.
- Ensures a diverse pipeline of future leaders.
- Trains and mentors team members.
- Obtains and maintains a valid pharmacy technician license.
Requirements
Full-time position. Must be fluent in English (except in Puerto Rico), willing to work flexible hours, and willing to relocate if needed. Must have a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, and completion of the Store Manager training program (LEAP).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record, or Walgreens Community Internship Program completion.
- Two years of supervisory experience, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including professional ethics, self-motivation, and strong communication skills.
- Completion of the Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training.
- Ability to communicate regularly with team members.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including extended days, evenings, and weekends.
- Ability to accept promotion into a Store Manager position.
- Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets within the same hiring area.

Schedule
