About the role
We are looking for collaborative and driven Emergency Veterinary Technicians to join our clinical team. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, shifting gears quickly and handling critical situations with ease. Every day is different, with no two cases alike.
Schedule
- Proposed: Thursday–Saturday, 10:00 AM–10:00 PM
- May rotate to: Wednesday 12:00 PM–10:00 PM, Thursday 12:00 PM–10:00 PM, Friday 12:00 PM–10:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM–8:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases, and gather additional information as needed
- Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment
- Partner with the patient care team on treatment plans, client communication, and nursing care concerns
- Provide client education, including home care instructions, medication details (indications, adverse reactions), and updates on hospitalized patients
- Assist DVMs with patient assessment, treatment, and procedures
- Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
- Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures
- Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing
Requirements
- State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred
- Prior veterinary experience required; previous emergency experience desired
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
- Flexibility with work hours; able to work additional hours when necessary
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
