THE JOB
As an Emergency Veterinarian at VEG, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and effective care to pets and their owners. Your responsibilities include answering medical questions over the phone, seeing patients immediately, conducting thorough physical examinations, and communicating with clients about diagnoses and treatment plans. You will also perform various surgical procedures and provide educational guidance on post-care and preventive measures.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Answer medical questions over the phone
- See patients right away as part of the VEG Triage and VEG Spikes
- Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and physical exam
- Conduct physical examinations and other required investigatory measures
- Complete a diagnosis and create a diagnostic and therapeutic plan
- Communicate diagnosis and treatment options directly with customers
- Create and review medical records to ensure accuracy
- Prepare estimates and present them to customers
- Perform minor and major emergency surgeries
- Perform endoscopic procedures
- Provide education on aftercare and preventative measures
