Emergency Veterinarian

About the role

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA (North Hills) is seeking Emergency Veterinarians to join our team in a large referral setting which includes seven criticalists combined at our three Pittsburgh locations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert care to critically ill or injured pets.
• Utilize cutting-edge diagnostic tools and perform life-saving procedures.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists to make a real impact on the lives of pets and their owners.
• Communicate clearly with pet owners about medical conditions and treatment plans.
• Trauma and critical care cases.
• Participate in a house officer program consisting of rotating interns, emergency and critical care interns and residents, and surgical interns and residents.

Requirements

• DVM/VMD degree required.
• Completion of a rotating internship or residency in emergency and critical care preferred but not required.
• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in this state.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, with the ability to make rapid and accurate assessments in emergency situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate bedside manner.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience in emergency and critical care is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of advanced diagnostic techniques and treatments.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

Annual base salary with additional earning potential through quarterly production (NO negative accrual).
