Emergency Veterinarian

Job Description

We are seeking a full-time or part-time Emergency Veterinarian to join our fast-paced Emergency and Specialty team. In this role, you will provide high-quality emergency and critical care to small animal patients presenting with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. You will confidently triage, diagnose, and manage high-acuity cases while developing and implementing timely treatment plans with the support of our skilled Licensed Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Confidently triage, diagnose, and manage high-acuity cases
• Stabilize critically ill or injured patients
• Make sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Work closely with our specialty services, including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, and Radiology
• Regularly guide and support pet owners through stressful and emotionally challenging situations
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records using EzyVet and Smart Flow
• Participate in case discussions and continuing education opportunities
• Contribute to hospital-wide training initiatives

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school
• Licensed or eligible for veterinary licensure in the State of New York
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous emergency medicine experience
