About the role
Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital is seeking a full-time ER veterinarian to join our 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Our ideal candidate will have internship training or 3+ years' ER experience and be friendly, collaborative, and excited to offer state-of-the-art medicine for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency and critical care services to hospitalized patients
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and diagnostic tests
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs
- Collaborate with other members of the veterinary healthcare team
- Continuously learn and stay updated with advancements in veterinary medicine
Requirements
- Internship training or 3+ years' ER experience
- Current license to practice veterinary medicine in New Hampshire
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passionate about providing exceptional patient care and client service
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited institution
- Knowledge of advanced diagnostic techniques and treatments
- Experience with various surgical procedures and anesthesia management
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Skills
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Advanced knowledge of veterinary medicine and emergency care
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems
- Ability to handle stressful situations and prioritize tasks
