Emergency Room Technician II

About the role

The Emergency Department at Munson Medical Center is a Level II Trauma Center, Regional Referral Center, Certified Stroke Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, with a dedicated behavioral health wing. The Emergency Department is 43 beds to provide care for northern Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Patient care tasks
• Patient interactions
• Supply stocking
• Transportation of patients
• Assisting with procedures
• Utilizing clinical knowledge to assist with patient needs
• Professional development in clinical skills, communication, and customer service
• Utilizing phones
• Answering call lights
• Working with peers

Qualifications

• Minimum one-year emergency/urgent care experience or college education equivalent preferred
• Maintains BCLS certification
• EMT licensure preferred
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to evaluate the criticality of patient needs
• Superior customer relation skills
• Vaccination requirements: must be vaccinated or have lab‑confirmed immunity for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella; must receive an annual flu vaccine (or approved medical/religious exemption)
