Emergency Room Technician
Job Summary
You will support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department, performing delegated functions from the RN or Physician. Every day you will conduct selected diagnostics and procedures, assist with patient transport and lifting, and provide general clerical and cleaning support to the unit.
Responsibilities
- Conduct selected diagnostics and procedures
- Absorb and record vital signs
- Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional condition and report any changes to the nursing or medical staff
- Escort patients to the exam room
- Perform and document general therapeutic/diagnostic measures
- Act as transporter
- Update the Emergency Department Tracking Board/Care Manager (EDTB)
- Act as unit clerk
- Utilize hospital information systems according to the hospital policy
- Discharge patients and enter charges for patients in a timely manner
- Utilize the EDTB to improve patient flow
- Perform order data entry as assigned by the nurse or physician
- Communicate with patients, family, physicians, other departments, unit personnel, and peers in an accurate, courteous and professional manner
Requirements
- Required High School GED General Studies, upon hire or High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days

Pay Range
$17.00 - $20.63 /hour
