About the Role
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the Emergency Room. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers while modeling a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipating patient needs proactively.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for complete understanding.
- Educate patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
- Prepare patients and families for future self-management.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of Emergency Room (ER) experience.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
