Emergency Room - RN, Charge
About the role
We are seeking an RN Charge Nurse to lead the delivery of high-quality clinical care at Yoakum Community Hospital.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including admission databases within 24 hours, and conduct regular rounds to adjust care plans based on patient condition changes.
Serve as a patient advocate, involving families in the creation and daily evaluation of individualized care plans while maintaining strict HIPAA confidentiality.
Demonstrate competency in all procedures and age-appropriate medication administration within your scope of practice.
Act as a central point of contact for the healthcare team, documenting all interventions and communicating clinical findings to practitioners and family members.
Serve as a role model and resource for nursing staff, maintaining a "team-first" mentality and assisting with staffing or temporary reassignments when needed.
Ensure all nursing processes meet state and federal regulations, participate in continuous quality improvement, and adhere to hospital policies.
Respond promptly to call bells with a calm, courteous demeanor, ensuring a dignified and respectful environment for every patient.
Effectively utilize manpower, equipment, and supplies to provide efficient, top-tier care.
Requirements
Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing
Currently licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing as a registered nurse
CPR, ACLS, PALS or ENPC & TNCC certifications required
Minimum one year experience preferred
