Emergency Preparedness & Safety Coordinator

About the Role

The Emergency Preparedness & Safety Coordinator provides operational support to both the Emergency Preparedness and Environmental Safety teams. Typical work includes entering, tracking, and pulling data from various sources; developing and publishing multiple reports; policy research; code research; project coordination and management for department initiatives; and management of the contract review and evaluation process for the team.

This position requires technical skills, organization, attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive and privileged information. The nature of work may require travel and some non-standard work times to support CBU in evaluation of their local needs.

Candidate must live in the Puget Sound Region. Full-time (1.0 FTE) day shift, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the development and review of policies and procedures.
• Leads and/or contributes to department quality initiatives and programs.
• Manages updates and training for the organization’s Executive On Call program and schedule.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• 1 year of experience working in a safety, emergency management, project management, or healthcare setting required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams required.

Pay

The pay scale for this position is $20.27 - $29.16 USD per hour. Pay is influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, certifications, and education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale based on the applicant’s years of experience.
