WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center is a 238-bed acute care hospital located on US Route 22 in Weirton, WV, serving patients from West Virginia, Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. It operates over 50 ancillary locations throughout the tri-state region and employs over 1,500 staff, making it one of the largest employers in northern West Virginia. The facility is part of the West Virginia University Health System, the state’s largest health system and largest private employer, which comprises 18 hospitals, five institutes, and provides management services for other local hospitals through affiliate agreements.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Eligible to obtain an unrestricted state medical license in West Virginia
• Completed an accredited residency program
• Board-certified or board-eligible via a recognized board within the American Board of Medical Specialties
• Emergency Medicine Board Certification required
