Staffing model includes physician and APP coverage with 12‑hour physician shifts and 8‑12‑hour APP shifts. EMR is Epic. Approximately 15‑20% of patients are pediatric. The department offers a full‑service lab, digital x‑ray, CT scan, and ultrasound, and provides direct medical/surgical admissions to Southside Medical Center. Located 15 miles south of Richmond, VA, it provides 24‑hour emergency care and transports critical patients to Southside Regional Medical Center. The freestanding ER is an extension of Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, VA—a 300‑bed acute‑care hospital serving >200K residents, offering the latest technology across specialties, three professional schools on campus, and seven satellite outpatient centers.
