Emergency Medicine Clinical Nurse - Nights

About the role

Provides direct patient care in a high acuity emergency department, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
• Participates in ensuring patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance; engages in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences and cultural considerations.
• Works in a safety-sensitive environment, maintaining alertness and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate's Degree; preferred Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Licenses & Certifications: Valid RN license.
• Experience: No prior experience required; 2+ years preferred.

Work environment

• Handles conditions such as chest pain, respiratory distress, trauma, strokes, and other critical issues.
• Emphasizes patient safety, effective communication, and collaborative care in a dynamic emergency setting.
