About the Role
VEA Health is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join a growing emergency department at Methodist Hospital Westover Hills in San Antonio, Texas. This is an exciting opportunity to practice in a modern ED with meaningful volume, strong Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support, and planned expansion already approved.
- 14 rooms, 1 trauma bay, 12 vertical care areas, and 6 hallway beds
- Approved expansion planned for Q3 2026 to add 8 additional rooms, 1 trauma bay, and a fast-track remodel
- Annual ED volume: approximately 35,000 visits, averaging 95 visits per day
- Trauma designation pending credentialing in May 2026
- Physician coverage varies by day of week
- APP coverage includes multiple overlapping shifts
- Admission rate: 17%
- Average physician productivity: 1.6 patients per hour
Requirements
Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine with ED experience.
For APP candidates: EM fellowship training preferred.
