Shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (rotating shifts with varying hours including weekends and evenings)
About the role
The Department of Emergency Medicine of the MetroHealth System, a principal teaching hospital of the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine, is seeking Advanced Practice Providers (APP) to join our growing team at our main campus emergency room. Our APPs work within a collaborative physician group actively involved in teaching and innovative patient care, with opportunities to participate in the training of APP students.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care consistent with the advanced practice registered nurse’s or physician assistant’s education, experience, and certification, in collaboration with a physician, including diagnosis, management, and/or referral of health care issues.
- Promote consumer, family, and community health through preventative health care actions and patient advocacy.
- Manage complex illnesses and/or deliver specialty care.
- Uphold the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Requirements
- Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio.
- Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing (for APRNs).
- Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program with current certification to practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
- Obtain other advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire.
- Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges in the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System.
- Maintains a standard care arrangement and renews/signs it as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Experience working as a provider in a clinical setting.
Qualifications
- For APRN candidates: Family Medicine (FM) certification.
- For PA candidates: Prior emergency medicine experience or rotations; prior experience in an emergency department is preferred.
- MSN or grandfathered under Ohio Revised Code.
- Graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered nurse program.
