Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Current Oklahoma Department of Health EMT Certification
• Current National Registry EMT Certification
• Current Oklahoma motor vehicle operator’s license
• Current Oklahoma Department of Health EMT certification

Essential Functions

• Conduct self in an ethical, professional manner
• Follow the directions of supervisors and controllers
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and public safety agencies
• Adhere to clinical standards and performance criteria
• Follow medical protocols and comply with Medical Control Board directives
• Ensure safe transportation of patients and ambulance operation
• Maintain ambulance and equipment
• Report malfunctions and damages to equipment
• Submit reports of injuries to appropriate authority
• Follow OSHA and EMSA infection control policies
• Support and interpret policies and directives
• Adhere to dress code and personal hygiene standards
• Comply with EMSA’s Vehicle Assignment and Use Policy
• Be punctual and consistent in attendance
• Communicate effectively with various stakeholders
• Read, write, and understand documents related to safety and operations
• Manage projects and activities in a high-stress environment

Work Environment

The position requires operating EMS vehicles, assisting in moving and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Works in outside weather conditions, exposure to fluctuating or extreme temperatures, wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. Must work independently, think and act properly in emergencies, and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
