Concentra is hiring an experienced and self-driven PRN EMT for an industrial position, providing healthcare support at our onsite clinic located at our client's site in Aurora, CO.

About the role

As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you will perform routine medical and testing procedures under direct supervision of the treating clinician, support other facility areas, and deliver one-on-one patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will play a crucial role in improving the health of America's workforce, one patient at a time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and conducting ancillary testing such as vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, pulmonary function tests, audiogram testing, and respirator fit testing
  • Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.)
  • Assist providers during examination and treatment
  • Determine nature and extent of illness or injury to establish first aid procedures or need for additional assistance
  • Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by the treating clinician and triage emergent patients
  • Prepare and assist clinician with procedure set-up and injury care
  • Dispense medications and durable medical equipment (DME) as ordered by the treating clinician, following state regulations
  • Administer prescribed first-aid treatment, including splints, oxygen, intravenous injections, wound care, and artificial resuscitation
  • Communicate with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facilities for further instructions and patient reception
  • Complete quality assurance activities on equipment, medical devices, and testing processes
  • Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms
  • Complete applicable training, including monthly clinical competency training
  • Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record-keeping
  • Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is malfunctioning, supplies are needed, or facility issues arise
  • Assist with patient flow and volume in partnership with center leadership
  • Keep patients informed of expected wait times
  • Cross-train to perform front office duties, including greeting patients, check-in/out, managing authorizations, and handling multi-line telephone systems
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules
  • Attend center staff meetings or huddles as required
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly facility appearance

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician
  • Must meet state credentials and regulations for employment
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol Certification, and Hair and Oral Fluids Collection certifications
  • At least 1 year of job-related experience

Pay

$25-$32.89 per hour

Schedule

Every Thursday night from 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM, with the possibility for additional nights (Sunday-Wednesday, 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM) as needed.
