About the role
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for providing emergency medical care in various settings. This includes responding to calls from emergency services, assessing patients, administering basic life support, and transporting patients to appropriate facilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide immediate medical care to patients in emergencies
- Assess patients' conditions and administer basic life support
- Transport patients safely to hospitals or other medical facilities
- Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency medical protocols and procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current EMT certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent communication skills
- Physical stamina and ability to work in physically demanding environments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (optional)
- Previous experience in emergency medical services
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Skills
- First aid and CPR certification
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
