Responsibilities
- Strictly follow Northwest Ambulance policies, procedures, and County Medical Protocols
- Efficiently complete assigned duties and submit required paperwork promptly
- Report to shifts on time and remain alert, focused, and engaged throughout each call
- Ensure the accuracy of all patient and operational records in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to patient safety in accordance with established procedures
- Operate the ambulance safely and responsibly, in full compliance with Washington State laws and company regulations
- Partner with dispatchers, leadership, and crew members to deliver compassionate, timely care—especially during unexpected or high-pressure situations
- Act with integrity, support the mission and values of Northwest Ambulance, and consistently exceed patient and customer expectations
- Maintain a clean, polished appearance and uphold high uniform standards
- Keep the ambulance clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout every shift
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support team and operational needs
Requirements
- Current Washington State EMT certification (or NREMT with WA reciprocity eligibility)
- Valid Washington State Driver's License - must have maintained for 2 years or longer
- Clean driving record:
- Over 21 years old - limit of 3 citations in past 36 months
- Under 21 years old - limit of 1 citation in the past 36 months
- DUI and other serious offenses may disqualify candidacy
- Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
- Ability to work extended shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be at least 18 years of age

- Proficiency in understanding vital signs, including the correct measurement and interpretation of values
- Capability to operate an oversize vehicle smoothly and safely

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful environment
- Ability to complete comprehensive and billable reports for each patient interaction
- Prior experience in interfacility transport or 911 response
- Familiarity with ESO or similar ePCR documentation systems
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 75 lbs and perform repeated bending, kneeling, and lifting
- Ability to bend and stoop, sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Possess hand-eye-foot coordination and color recognition, good manual dexterity, with the ability to perform all tasks related to Emergency Medical Services
- May be periods of prolonged sitting in a vehicle and working on a computer
- Ability to work in varied weather conditions and high-stress environments

Pay
Wages $26.30 - $36.20 per hour.
Schedule
Shifts are either 11, 12, or 13 hours long with start times ranging from 4am to 8pm. Assignment of shifts is based on unit availability.
