Emergency Medical Technician (Casual) Canonsburg EMS

About the role

Allegheny Health Network – This position is part of Union PPFFA - F. There are (2) positions available. Under AHN Prehospital Care Services, Canonsburg Ambulance provides emergency and non-emergency care to Washington County, PA. We are seeking candidates interested in rural, community based EMS. Provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the pre-hospital and hospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of emergency medical care.

Responsibilities

• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic life support and transport to the critically ill and injured in the prehospital setting. (50%)
• Drives emergency vehicle. (20%)
• Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum: PA EMT certification or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the EMT level.
• Preferred: Six months’ experience in the field of prehospital care.
• Preferred: ITLS/PHTLS, ABLS, ASLS.

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
