Emergency Medical Technician

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Responds immediately to emergencies, including medical incidents, hazardous material events, and other safety-related situations.
• Leads emergency response operations as ERT Captain, directing teams during medical, chemical, gas, HAZMAT, and rescue events.
• Ensures strict compliance with safety protocols such as PPE requirements, Lockout/Tagout (CoHE), and chemical handling procedures.
• Conducts routine safety audits, inspections, and hazard-prevention checks to support a safer and more efficient workplace.
• Completes and reviews Job Hazard Analyses (JHA/JSA) and communicates shift updates to keep cross-functional teams aligned.

Requirements

• Supports safety projects and cost-reduction initiatives through data analysis and preventive maintenance activities.
• Utilizes Microsoft Office applications to complete documentation, reporting, and communication tasks efficiently.
• Able to obtain certifications in SCBA, SKA, APR respiratory protection, HAZMAT response, and confined space/high-angle rescue.
• Have a current EMT certification.

Physical Effort/Activities

• May be required to walk up to 5+miles per day, able to be on feet for 8-10 hrs at a time, able to bend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces, work at heights, on a ladder, and lift up to 50-75 pounds.

Qualifications

• Current EMT certification.
