EMT’s and Paramedics must be capable of functioning with authority and good judgment in a variety of circumstances under difficult and stressful conditions, and must be caring persons with the desire to help others. The Emergency Medical Services program is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach face-to-face at our downtown Dayton campus. The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach. Why work for Sinclair College? Principal AccountabilitiesAdjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the departmentPlan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learningPrepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policiesEmploy appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriateModify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student’s needsSupport classroom and online efforts to promote student successEvaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learningMaintain accurate records of student progressSubmit final grade rosters according to established deadlinesMaintain confidentiality of student informationAdjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semesterMinimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferredMust be a licensed Ohio Paramedic requiredMust be Ohio licensed Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I or IIAHA ACLS Instructor preferredAHA CPR Instructor preferredMust have at least 2 years of paramedic level patient care experience requiredEvidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferredDemonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program levelEffective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work successfully in a community college environmentMust possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction Official transcripts for all post-secondary degrees (if applicable) and successful completion of a background check will be required prior to date of hire.
