Position Location
This position will be located onsite at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama.
Job Overview
The Emergency Management Analyst assists in the development, coordination, and writing of emergency operations plans, procedures, and supporting planning documents. This role provides training in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Defense and Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams. This role receives, reviews, maintains, and reports appropriate emergency operations data and information for response activities before, during, and after natural disasters events, and/or civil disturbances and man-made/technological disasters. The position responds to all hazards that impact Maxwell, Gunter, and AOR when tasked. This role is full time onsite at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery Alabama.
Responsibilities
- Receives, reviews, maintains, and reports appropriate emergency operations data and information for response activities before, during, and after natural disasters events, and/or civil disturbances and man-made/technological disasters.
- Provides advice and technical guidance to units in all areas related to emergency management.
- Prepares lesson plans, schedules, and conducts training courses listed in AFI 10-2501, Emergency Management Program Planning and Operations using excellent communication skills specifically the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Counsels and trains emergency management personnel in the use of emergency management programs.
- Conducts Emergency Management Program Reviews to provide continuity of the Emergency Management program throughout base.
- Develops, reviews, and updates wing emergency response plans.
- Reviews and provides guidance to units on unit specific checklists to support wing plans.
- Maintains and inspects equipment, conducts training, and prepares for peacetime response to incidents involving HazMat, use of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) or Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN).
- Responds, in Personnel Protective Equipment, to Hazardous Material incidents, uses sampling or detection equipment provided to fulfill taskings leveraged by the IC, MSG or Wing/CC as outlined in the IEMP 10-2.
- Participates as a member of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) as needed.
- Provides training to other EOC members as required.
- May require work outside of normal business hours and in hazardous conditions.
- Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements.
