About the role

The Animal Medical Center of Seattle (AMCS) is a 24/7 Emergency and Specialty hospital located in Shoreline, WA. The hospital serves the greater Seattle area and offers services including Emergency/Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Neurology, and Diagnostic Imaging.

Responsibilities

• Perform triage and assessment of incoming emergency patients
• Provide nursing care and continuous monitoring for critically ill and hospitalized patients
• Administer medications, fluid therapy, blood products, and advanced treatments
• Absorb and assist with emergency procedures, diagnostics, anesthesia, and sedation
• Perform laboratory sample collection, testing, and radiology support
• Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients throughout the patient stay
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams

Requirements

• Active Washington State LVT license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• ER, ICU, or specialty experience preferred; willing to train and invest in the right motivated candidate
• Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-acuity environment
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care, with interest in continued learning and professional development

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a recognized veterinary technician program
• Current active license as a licensed veterinary technician in Washington State

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in computer systems and software
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

• Competitive compensation, including swing differential (+$2/hr, 4pm–12am) and overnight differential (+$4.50/hr, 12am–8am); potential annual earnings for full-time overnight technicians range from approximately $75,000–$100,000+

Schedule

Full-time opportunity in Shoreline, WA. Schedule: Overnight, Saturday–Tuesday, 9pm–8am. Greatest staffing need currently falls within overnight coverage hours from Saturday through Tuesday. While final schedules may vary, we are open to discussing flexibility for the right candidate when operationally feasible.
