About the role
This Lectureship is for one Academic Year, classes beginning in Fall 2026. Ability to work a combination of days/evenings/weekends is required. Assignments may include working at multiple sites/campuses.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of lecture and laboratory presentations
- Curriculum review and practical instruction of laboratory skills
- Evaluation of practical laboratory skill performance
- Serves as a liaison between College and community health care facilities
- Serves on the Medical Laboratory Advisory Committee at the College
- Provides input for needs assessment, continued development, accreditation, and outcomes assessment for all Laboratory Phlebotomy and Medical Laboratory Technology programs
- Prepares and delivers lectures to students on various topics in relation to a specific discipline
- Evaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments and papers
- Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts
- Makes classroom discussions
- Selects and obtains materials and supplies such as textbooks and laboratory equipment
- Contributes to program development
- Collaborates with colleagues to address teaching and research issues
- Facilitates and moderates classroom discussions
- Advises students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issues
- Administers and grades examinations
- Plans, evaluates and revises curricula, course content and course materials and methods of instruction
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher and ASCP (or equivalent) MLT/MLS/MT certification (dated terminology/ASCP&ASCLS updated official designations)
- 5 years of related recent (within the last 3 years) medical laboratory experience
- Teaching experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for students
- Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skills
- Logic and reasoning skills to identify solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience teaching medical lab students
- 5 years of recent job experience in this specialty
- Recent blood bank and/or microbiology experience
- Experience designing and teaching using a course management system (CMS) such as Blackboard
- Community college teaching experience

$ 46,348 minimum; offer based on education and/or experience.
