This is a part-time (adjunct) faculty position. Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.

About the Role

Teaches a full range of courses in Emergency Medical Technology at Eastern Campus. Reports to the Associate Dean.

  • Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomes
  • Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts
  • Evaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations
  • Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation by specified deadlines
  • Available to students for coaching
  • Attends periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College relative to teaching duties and training and development

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Certified State of Ohio Emergency Medical Technician Instructor – Paramedic
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Paramedic
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified and become an ACLS instructor within six months of employment
  • Become an American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) instructor within six months of employment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)
  • Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills
  • Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of the community

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a medical field
  • Master’s degree in any field
  • National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic
  • American Heart Association ACLS Instructor
  • American Heart Association PALS Instructor
  • Teaching experience

Pay

$951.00 per Equated Semester Unit (ESU)

Schedule

To be determined based on business unit needs. Classes may be offered during the day, evening, and/or weekend.
