Emergency Department Technician - PRN/On Call

Key Responsibilities

• Assist nurses and physicians with patient care, treatments, and procedures
• Obtain and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.)
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as EKGs, blood draws, splinting, wound care, and specimen collection (as permitted)
• Transport patients to and from diagnostic areas or inpatient units
• Maintain patient conditions and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain cleanliness and organization in the ED
• Stock and restock medical supplies and equipment
• Aid in emergency situations, including CPR and trauma response

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

• Basic clinical and technical skills
• Excellent observational and problem-solving abilities

Education and Experience

• A high school diploma or equivalency is required
• Clinical experience in an acute care-nursing environment is preferred

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
