Emergency Department Technician- OLGMC ED- Full Time- Nights

About the role

We assist the hospital in providing nursing care to patients and perform specialized technical skills under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Our goal is to support nursing and hospital administration by adhering to established objectives, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care with direct supervision of the registered nurse.
• Performs clinical job duties as outlined by departmental competency.
• Supports nursing and hospital administration by accepting established objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Accurately documents patient related tasks.
• Maintains professional knowledge and required certifications through growth and development.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, explaining services or procedures, requesting permissions, and adopting appropriate communication styles.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Work experience not specified.
• Preferred: Hospital experience.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) upon hire.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to various individuals throughout the patient care process.
