About the role

Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a part-time Emergency Department Technician/EMT or Paramedic to join our Emergency Services team. You will play a direct role in saving lives by providing care in a safe, patient-centered environment. Our Emergency Services department is a Level II ACS-verified Trauma Center, serving over 68,000 patients annually across all age groups. The team includes Providers, RNs, Paramedics, Emergency Department Technicians, Respiratory Therapists, Health Unit Coordinators, and Social Workers.

The department features 45 patient exam rooms, including ten Urgent Care rooms, five resuscitation/trauma/critical care rooms, and three dedicated Behavioral Health rooms. Patients have 24-hour access to laboratory, X-ray, and surgical services. We are also a Stroke Center with 24/7 neuro-interventional capabilities and a Chest Pain Center with 24/7 interventional cardiac catheterization lab capabilities. Recognized as a 2023 Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award recipient, our department is acknowledged for excellence in metrics and patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team in a high-energy, trauma-center environment.
  • Perform clinical duties with a high degree of professionalism and aptitude.
  • Support providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in delivering quality care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • National Registry Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (NREMT) or Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B) certification.
  • Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers.
  • Prior work experience in an emergency or pre-hospital setting is strongly preferred.

Schedule

  • Part-time, 60 hours biweekly (0.75 FTE).
  • Orientation/training will be as close to full-time as possible, including day shifts.
  • 12-hour night shifts (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.) with every third weekend and holiday rotation.

Pay

  • Starting pay of $19.05 per hour for EMTs or $24.36 per hour for Paramedics, based on experience.
